If the chocolates, jewelry, dinners and other heart shaped garbage won’t prove that you truly heart someone. Why not surprise them with a trip! We want to show you 5 unique romantic locations you can take your boo, we’d love to help take your V-day from blah to YAH! 1. London, Ontario As a Canadian, nothing screams romance like Ontario. Hey! London, England is a romantic city, why not its canadian cousin. On Valentine's day they even have a Family Fort Building day! Ooh, I don’t know about you but I’ve got butterflies. 2. Belgorod, Russia Let’s jump across the ocean to the motherland, Russia! This is a magical place that has done something special for Valentine's day. They’ve banned it entirely! The perfect destination, in my opinion. 3. Boise, Idaho According to Amazon.com's statistics on romance in American cities, Boise doesn’t seem to be worried about this sort of thing. You can take your lover here and save a good buck once you get there! When they question why you haven’t gotten them anything more, you can point to social convention! Perfect! 4. Atlantic City, New Jersey We all know Las Vegas, Nevada is the truest city for love, so what about their New Jersey look alike? Atlantic City has the perfect carpeted casinos to backdrop your special valentine's day surprise. And you can try and win them some cash, who wouldn’t want a bundle of roses made entirely of bills. 5. Venice, Italy Okay, everyone knows this one, so why put it on the list? It’s the secrets of venice that make it the perfect place. Is it the smelly canal? The overcrowded tourist ridden streets? The fact that it’s sinking? Man my heart flutter. Take your boo here so you can… buy one of those ‘Chao Bella’ shirts? Those are pretty cool.
Thank you for checking out this article and considering these for your next valentines day surprise that is so non corporate it’s corporate. Happy Love Based Commercialism Day. ❤

There are 3 types of shoes that I suggest you bring on any vacation where you plan to do lots of walking.
1. Flip flops. Even if you buy a dollar pair from the dollar store, this is a must. Not only can flip flops be useful on the beach or on a hot day, but they should be worn in the shower in hostels or roman baths. Also flip flops are always a good backup for sore and even blistered feet and are light to carry! The colour is up to you, you’re on vacation, why not bright yellow? Also, just a word of advice from someone who’s made this mistake before, do not wear flip flops while exploring a volcano or you may have to finish your adventure by hobbling down the side of the hill with a melted flip flop in hand while your travel companion is trying to convince the tour bus not to leave without you. 2. The second is actually two shoes, interchangeably. Either sandals with ankle straps (for warm weather destinations) or boots (for cold weather destinations). The shoe with ankle and foot straps ensure that you don’t lose your shoe anywhere while also not restricting you from any adventure. Certain rides at theme parks, like Disneyland, or even things like ziplining may not let you participate if you’re wearing shoes that may fall off. If your destination is cold, boots are the alternative, since you won’t be wearing sandals. I didn’t bring boots to Alaska when I ventured there and regretted it almost every single day. Especially when we went on the ice fields and I had a full coat, pants and Toms on my feet. Don’t make my mistake. 3. You may have guessed number 3, which is a good pair of walking shoes! My favourite are ones that don’t require socks so I can wear them in humid temperatures without dying of heat stroke. Often on vacation I see people wearing toms or Eddie Bauer Rivet’s, so these are good as well if you want a more stylish take on the walking shoes. This is not a place to cheap out as uncomfortable shoes and sore feet can have an affect on your back and overall enjoyment. Treat yourself to some light, breathable nike runners, and when you’re walking back to your hostel after a long day of walking the Walls of Dubrovnik, you’ll be thankful that you did. |
